I have a gas fireplace that is vented to the outside, but it has no flue! Resulting in a big hole in the outside of our house. What were the previous homeowners thinking? Anyway, I usually cover the vent with some insulation in plastic (removing it before using the fireplace of course), but I think the warm windows might be better on the inside.
