So it's actually if the seller has a business entity in the state and they sell to a person in the state. I've never paid sales tax on items I've purchased unless the company has a business in VA and I've never charged sales tax unless I sell to a person in VA. Sales tax is based on the law of the state where the buyer lives, so you are out of luck. If my state changes the law to charge sales tax on online purchases ... doesn't that affect the buyer? Why penalize affiliates? And it's not like they aren't set up to deal with sales tax. So annoying. But that’s (part of) the point!
