5 Ways to Save Money on Work Clothes and Uniforms

men-tieWork clothes and uniforms offer a great way of equalizing all employees by making them feel at par. However, wearing the same clothes day in day out can cause them to wear out a lot faster.

This, in turn, means extra costs. You’ll always want to buy new because you know they’ll last the longest. You’d rather spend money on other things, so to avoid spending more money than you have to on cheap scrub tops there are options.

Use the Internet
By using the internet you can save on money by comparing uniform prices online and choosing the most affordable. If you shop on websites, you can get cheap scrub tops at big discounts. Using the internet is a lot easier than walking into a store because you would not have the choice of comparing prices in a store. Price comparison is much easier now thanks to the internet and you do not spend as much.

Go to Thrift Stores
Thrift stores are great places to find cheap uniforms. If you do not find anything, you can always check back because the merchandise at thrift stores changes by the day. Consignment stores are an alternative to thrift stores because their merchandise is usually consistently in good condition. This way, you can get cheaper and almost new uniforms without compromising on quality.

Choose Colors and Fabrics Wisely
If you have a choice between bright and dark colors you should pick the dark colors. This is because dark colors hide most stains better than bright ones. Also, of course, experiment with finding a detergent that gets stains out. With visible stains, it will be difficult to wear the uniform to work meaning that you would have to replace it sooner. The fabric should also be hard wearing in order to withstand frequent washing without wearing out quickly. Another thing to consider, is using color psychology and wear the most empowering colors to work.

If you can keep your uniform looking newer for longer, you should be able to save money in the long run. Knowing the right temperatures and what kind of detergent to use will aid in preserving your uniform. The frequency of washing should also be reasonable enough for a uniform that is supposed to last. Make sure you get the washing instructions right every time you wash and your uniform will last longer than you expect it to.

Buy Fewer Uniforms
Because uniforms are basically the same, you can save on money by buying less. Buying many uniforms is not only a waste of money but usually unnecessary. Cheap scrub tops are basically the same so nobody is going to tell the difference between all of yours. Therefore, buying a few uniforms and alternating between them is a cheaper option as opposed to buying new ones for every day of the month.

Buying a Size Up
You should choose your uniform to accommodate any growth. It’s a reality some of us face. You do not have to do this if your weight remains relatively the same. However, if your weight fluctuates a lot, try getting your uniform a size up. This way, if you increase in size you do not have to buy new uniform or make alterations which would shorten the durability of the uniform. When your weight decreases, your uniform might look bigger but you can accessorize to make it fit better.
