This is the wrap-up from the great beyond, lost in my “drafts” folder — but I think it’s got some good information, so I’m resurrecting it this week!
It includes some especially appropriate articles in the blogosphere that I thought would be mighty helpful for my readers here.
- Melinda at One Green Generation wrote about Ten Household Uses for Hydrogen Peroxide. I’ve talked about using HP to get out protein stains and to whiten teeth, but Melinda goes 8 better.
- Adam Baker at Get Rich Slowly covered a variety of unexpected cleaning “hacks” — ways to get out tough stains with items you might have around the house, or at least without resorting to hauling your ink-stained sofa to a posh cleaner’s or repainting your entire living room after Junior got out the markers.
- Chiot’s Run wrote on the Simple, Green, Frugal Co-Op about saving money on food by being prepared ahead of time, with water, with snacks or with simple, pre-made meals.
- And on the other side of the coin, for those who have a tendency to be too prepared by buying in bulk, Sierra Black guest-posted at Get Rich Slowly about the pitfalls of buying in bulk.

Thanks for the great links!
Always looking for ways to clean green.
I’ve been on a kick lately to really do the green thing. Since we finally have a backyard, I’m setting up a composting bin. We’ve been reusing and recycling everything we can. (This has been a challenge bc there’s literally no recycling in Salta, so it’s a matter of finding uses for plastic. Paper is a bit easier on that end).
These links and so much of the rest of your site have been a huge inspiration and resource.
Good for you! That makes it a real challenge to avoid plastic as much as possible … so challenging sometimes.
