I just realized today what a pit my home had become. I have been so busy with classes, working & the kids that we have done nothing but basic sanitary cleaning (dishes, toilets, trash) for way too long. I am thankfully on Thanksgiving/Fall break this week from school & my plan is to do some major cleaning. Sadly it will take a lot more than 15 minutes a day. :( We did tackle the bathrooms & downstairs living room today so tomorrow we are planning on hitting the main level. I can't even see my dining room table right now. :)

Hubby cleans the tub I do everything else. Not to say he wouldn't help. It is just quicker for me while he watches our two little guys. Plus I am pretty anal and like it really clean. He puts away the laundry, because I loathe laundry. I try not to ask him to do to much. He sometimes works 60 hour work weeks so I can stay at home with our boys.

I try to keep big surfaces clear of clutter. If I can do that, it seems like those surfaces' magnetic attraction for additional clutter is reduced, whereas once there's a thin layer on the kitchen table for instance, or my dresser top, there is soon a THICK layer. I also have been trying to follow the FlyLady's advice of keeping your kitchen sink spic n' span.

Hi! I love the site. I was just reading your "what we do to live greener" The last one was electric blanket over space heater. I grew up in a very old/cold house and we used hot water bottles to stay warm at night. I still use mine now. The bottle is covered with fake fur and shaped like a lamb so its much more cuddlely then bare rubber. It warms the bed up before you get in AND stay warm most of the night. Just a though!
