Last week, the lovely and talented Lisa at Condo Blues very kindly presented me with an award:

The rules of the award, which you can follow if you want to, or not, are:

First, to Lisa at Condo Blues, a big and heartfelt THANK YOU! It is lovely to know Cheap Like Me makes a bit of a difference in someone’s day. And congratulations on your second blogiversary!

As for nominating bloggers for the award, here are a few blogs I’ve either recently picked up reading or never given a shout out to, in no particular order:

  1. Matador Life – I’ve recently started occasionally contributing to this blog, part of the largest online travel Web site. This section is edited by Leigh Shulman, author of the terrific blog The Future is Red.
  2. Mile High on the Cheap – The blog offers great savings opportunities. Check the Web for your local “cheap” to find deals in your ‘hood.
  3. One Green Generation – Melinda is always good for great insights on greening, in a gentle tone. (And she happens to be doing a DivaCup giveaway, too!)
  4. Gooseflesh - This artist blogs about various things, but I found her blog because of the amazing sculptures she knits of sea life and other bits of the world.
  5. Living the Frugal Life – Always good for an insight and/or instructions, in lots of juicy detail.
  6. Rob’s World – Rob is a frequent visitor here, but he blogs at his own place and does some seriously creative repurposing.
  7. And last but not least, if you are up for some metaphysics, astrology or just musing, check out Leonine Times, written by a good friend of mine.

As for 7 things about me that people might find interesting? Hmm … “interesting” is relative, but here we go:

  1. I was an English major, but I nearly switched to environmental science halfway through college.
  2. I played the flute in school. I’d wanted to play the cello, but my parents said it was too big! I still wish I’d played the cello.
  3. I didn’t learn to ride a bike until I was 12.
  4. I never have quite enough time for it, but I love spinning my own yarn.
  5. Long ago (when I was 20 and it seemed outrageously distant), I set a goal of having a book published by age 40. The deadline is looming, but I’m not there yet!
  6. I’m a third-generation Colorado native. My daughter is the 4th generation.
  7. I’m insatiably curious and an insatiable multi-tasker. I usually have about 10 projects going on and 5 books in various stages of being read.

Thanks again, Condo Blues!

Susanna,

Thank you so much for mentioning both Matador Life and thefutureisred.

So does that mean we’re nominated too?

It’s been great working with you these past few months.
